How to manufacture optical glass
  1. Compounding of raw materials

    There are approximately 230 kinds of optical glass due to its property.
    And there are approximately 70 kinds of raw materials which are used for the optical glass.
    Around 5-15 kinds of raw materials by from 10 kg to 100 kg of number units are compounded to manufacture one kind of optical glass.
    As for the main raw materials, silica rock, boric acid, an oxidation lantern, oxidation gadolinium, oxidation niobium, zirconium oxide, barium, potassium, others will be used for high purity raw materials with few impurities.

  2. Melting

    Compounded raw materials are melted primarily in quartz pot.
    And next, after melted roughly, the raw glass materials are to be melted in platinum melting pot.
    The melting temperature reaches a high temperature of 1200-1400 degrees Celsius.
    In addition, there are other melting methods due to property of the optical glass, such as melting in clay pot and galvanizing the glass directly.

  3. Inspection

    The melted glass materials are to be annealed, but, they contain bubbles, striae, etc.
    They are inspected by an inspector with their eyes and the bubbles, striae are to be removed.
    Skilled inspectors do this process, they can find the irregularities which are hard to do for common people.

  4. Pressing

    The inspected optical glasses are cut into suitable size and they are reheat.
    After this, they are to be pressed with Die.
    They are high quality and processed at lower cost.
    Finally, they are to be polished.

    Recently, we manufacture aspheric lens, prism, micro lens array by precision molding technology, which eliminates need for polishing to save time and production cost
